"穿" 衣服的表示法

英语常用表示“穿”衣服的词语有：wear,dress,put on,have on. 它们的用法如下：

 

1. wear

 

wear 的用法比较广，穿衣、鞋；戴帽、眼镜、手饰等都可用。wear 的特点是及物动词，它只是说“穿、戴”这件事，所以后面要具体说明“穿、戴”的东西。例如：

 

A policeman does not wear a uniform when he is off duty.
警察不值勤时不穿制服。
She never wears green.
她从不穿绿色的衣服。
She was wearing a gold ring.
她戴着一个金戒指。
He had to wear sunglasses because of the glare of the sun.
因为阳光耀眼,他只好戴墨镜。

 

2. dress

 

dress 本身就已经表示“穿衣服”，而且有“打扮”的意思。它作为不及物动词使用。例如：

 

I dress the kids before I go to work.
我要给孩子们穿好衣服才去上班。
Margaret told Jane to dress herself in her nicest dress.
Margaret 告诉 Jane 穿上她最漂亮的连衣裙打扮一下。
We dressed him up as a gorilla.
我们把他打扮得像个大猩猩。
He tends to dress in dark colors.
他习惯于穿深色的衣服。

 

3. put on

 

通常，put on 指一次性动作，即“穿”这个动作，它的原意是“把东西放在身上”。它还可以指“涂上”口红。例如：

 

She put on her coat and went out.
她穿上外套，出去了。
She took off the old dress and put on a new one.
她脱下旧连衣裙,穿上一件新的。
She didn't put on an overcoat though it was very cold outside.
外头虽冷，她却没披件外套。
I haven't even put any lipstick on.
我甚至没有涂任何口红。

 

4. have on

 

have on 指“穿、戴”的状态，所以它不用进行时。例如：

 

The girls had on skirts of all different colours.
女孩子们穿着各种颜色的裙子。
She had on all her bridal decorations.
她穿戴着所有的新娘装饰品。
It's a pretty hat you have on. 
你戴的帽子很好看。

 

5. don, assume, get into

 

这几个词也可表示穿、戴的意思。例如：

 

The princess donned a long blue dress.
公主穿了一件蓝色的长裙。
The queen assumed the stately robes.
王后穿着一件华丽的礼服。
He got into his jeans.
他穿上了牛仔裤.
